Who we are

We help people to live well with the impact of cancer. The way in which we help people is known as the ‘Bristol Approach’.

Penny Brohn Cancer Care is registered as a charity with the Charity Commission, number 284881, and as a company limited by guarantee with the Registrar of Companies, number 1635916.

The charity was founded in 1980 as the Bristol Cancer Help Centre by Penny Brohn and Pat Pilkington. In 2006 the charity relocated to a purpose built centre on the outskirts of Bristol and was re-named Penny Brohn Cancer Care in memory of Penny who passed away in 1999 after living with cancer for 20 years.
