What is the Bristol Approach?
Developed by us
The Bristol Approach is our unique combination of physical, emotional and spiritual support designed to help you live well with the impact of cancer, at any stage of your illness.
We see you as a whole person, recognising how important it is for you to have support not just for your physical health, but for your mind, your feelings and relationships and the deepest parts of you.
So many aspects of your life can be affected by cancer. We aim to help you live well with its impact, by giving you choices and control over how you support yourself.
Our services offer you the opportunity to share your experience, in welcoming and peaceful surroundings, with our highly trained team and with others who are also living with the impact of cancer. Our whole person approach includes therapeutic support, self-help techniques and guidance to support every part of you. These include practical tips on healthy eating and exercise, learning how to manage uncertainty and anxiety, or finding ways to relax in the midst of the stress of cancer and its treatments.
The changes that cancer brings can affect your deepest feelings and understanding of yourself. We recognise that your experience is unique to you. We support you in the exploration of your personal journey, to help you live as well as you can with the impact of cancer.
