“…I absolutely know that coming to Penny Brohn Cancer Care made a fundamental difference to my ability to cope with cancer, the treatment and to look forward with hope. The people at the Centre helped me to save my life."
Michell Eve, playgroup worker, mother of three
Retreat courses give you the time, space and support to process the changes, both visible and hidden, that cancer may have caused in your life. They offer the possibility of finding creative and positive ways to integrating change into your life and moving on. The retreats invite you to venture deeply into your experience, finding new ways of understanding what has happened, and using the crisis of cancer as an opportunity of transformation. They build on the knowledge and skills gained in Living Well and Approach courses using meditation, imagery, silence, creativity and healing.
This retreat is intended to offer a safe and nurturing space in which to meditate, reflect and explore the nature of stillness. It will provide you with an opportunity to take in the peace and tranquility of our beautiful Centre. The retreat will begin late morning on Monday and run until lunch time on Friday. Meditation and self reflection including journal writing on a daily basis will enable you to deepen your practise and group work will explore mindfulness and breath work.
You will use art, movement and music therapy and will be offered an individual healing session. In addition, there will be ample free time for rest, reflection and recuperation. Much of the course will be spent in quiet reflection and meditation and one day will be spent in silence.
This retreat is intended to offer a safe and nurturing space in which to relax, reflect and understand further how cancer has affected who you are now and the impact of the diagnosis on your life. The therapists and facilitators will help guide you into realisations about how cancer has transformed your life and how you can make further transformations that will benefit you, your loved ones and others. The retreat will begin late morning on Monday and run until lunch time on Friday. Meditation, self reflection and group work will help you reflect on your journey with cancer so far.
You will use art therapy, music therapy and other creative expressions to help deepen your awareness of your journey. You will be offered individual bodywork sessions and there will be ample time for rest, reflections and recuperation.
