Walk the Walk

Since 2000 Penny Brohn Cancer Care has been wonderfully supported by Walk the Walk, a grant making charity not only committed to raising money and awareness for vital breast cancer causes but a charity that is also passionate about encouraging women and men to become healthier, fitter and to take charge of their own well being.

Walk the Walk came into being 13 years ago when just 13 women Power Walked the New York City Marathon in their bras to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. What started out as a one-off fundraising event, has blossomed into a thriving multi-million pound charity, raising to date in excess of £58 million for vital breast cancer causes. Each year Walk the Walk organise a series of power walking events around the UK, including the MoonWalk in London, and get women and men walking in aid of breast cancer charities. Each year Walk the Walk generously donates money from the various events it organises to Penny Brohn Cancer Care. To date we have received over £9 million from Walk the Walk, for which we are forever grateful.

To support Walk the Walk we are looking for walkers and volunteers to join Team Penny at the MoonWalk London in May 2011 and the SunWalk Bristol in July 2011. Whether you walk or volunteer you will have a fantastic time and will be helping us support Walk the Walk.
