Higher Certificate: The Bristol Approach to working with people with cancer

Further studies in the Bristol Approach and integrative cancer care for the ‘whole person’.

This course is designed for those who have completed the Foundation Certificate or the previous Certificate in Working with People with Cancer. The course looks further at integrating complementary therapies into practice and services. By completing this course you will learn best current practice in using complementary therapies in cancer care. You will deepen your ability to reflect on your own practice or service and learn how to improve this to benefit yourself and your clients.

Once you have completed the Foundation Certificate you may further your studies by completing the Higher Certificate which is comprised of four modules.

The Higher Certificate looks further into integrating complementary therapies into practice and services. It will explore the very important agenda on ‘End of Life’ and palliative care and included is a module on the importance of supervision and continuous reflective practice. There will be further opportunity to revisit and deepen your understanding of the Bristol Approach and prepare for the reflective practice portfolio and case reflections.

The modules are:
1. Integrating care
2. Reflective practice and supervision
3. Integrated palliative and ‘End of Life’ care
4. Applying the Bristol Approach

There will be two intakes for the Higher Certificate one in December 2008 and April 2009.
