Taking part in the Food Chain is all about enjoying good food and good company, whilst raising money for a good cause - Penny Brohn Cancer Care.

How does it work?

  • A Food Chain can be as flexible as you like. For example, you could host a lunch, dinner party or simply tea and cakes for eight of your friends. In return the guests are asked to make a donation to Penny Brohn Cancer Care of, for example, £10 each.
  • To keep the chain going the eight guests (or however many you have) are then asked to host their own event and each invite seven of their friends
  • The seven guests at each event should then arrange a get together for six people and so on
  • This shows how it can snowball from just one person to hundreds and even thousands all raising funds for people living with cancer. Plus - you don’t necessarily have to start a Food Chain with eight guests, more or less than this is fine, the object is to keep the chain going.

Every single lunch or dinner party is a vital link in the chain. If everyone keeps the chain going and all guests make a suggested donation of £10, a single Food Chain would raise an incredible £1,096,000!
