The NICE Guidelines published in March 2004 place a strong emphasis on the need for psychosocial support and complementary therapies within NHS cancer services for people living with cancer, and on the importance of NHS and other healthcare workers developing skills in these areas.
The courses will provide you with an opportunity to learn more about the different aspects of the Bristol Approach. They will also help you to understand how to help people with cancer to manage their illness. Its social, psychological and spiritual aspects, the symptoms and side-effects of treatment, and how people with cancer benefit from the promotion of a sense of wellbeing at the time of lifethreatening or life-reducing illness.
