Whether it’s a cake bake or ball, head shave or auction, here are some helpful hints and tips when organising your own fundraising event. The key to a successful event is remembering to check the date for any clashes with other events, budget for success, promote the event and don’t forget to thank those involved.

Choose a fun and simple event.
Set the location and date (If you need to book a venue, do it as soon as you can)

Have your Sponsorship Form on hand or point people to your online donation page
If sponsors are taxpayers ask them to tick the gift aid box on the sponsorship forms to raise an extra 25p from every £1
After the event
Thank all those who attended, donated and helped out.We love seeing photos of your events so please send them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Let your local paper know what you have been up to, don’t forget to send a photo.
Where to send your sponsorship
Please remember to keep your fundraising safe, bank it as soon as possible and we advise to ensure someone is with you when counting and banking it. To bank it either:
Send a cheque (made payable to Penny Brohn UK) to Fundraising Team, Penny Brohn UK, Chapel Pill Lane, Pill, Bristol, BS20 0HH. Remember to say who it’s from you so we know who to thank!
Pay into our bank account (Sort Code: 56-00-05, Account Number: 53874455). Please use the reference of ‘Your Event – Your Name’ and let us know you’ve paid it in so we can look out for it in our bank account.
Drop it in to our Centre (if you live locally to Bristol). Then we can have a cuppa with you to say thanks!
