Volunteer Speakers
Could you offer your time as a speaker, inspiring others in your local community?

Our vision is that everyone affected by cancer can access life changing cancer care. We need your help to do this. Our volunteer speakers help us to take our messages out to a wide audicence through giving talks to groups, clubs and societies.

If you would like to raise awareness and share information about the services offered at Penny Brohn Cancer Care we would like to hear from you. You may be speaking from personal experience or because you would like to support the work we do.

Shop Assistant Volunteer
Help increase sales and income for the charity and ensure a high level of customer service to all clients, guests, visitors and staff.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to assist in the shop offering a friendly and welcoming service. Volunteers actively promote and sell stock to customers and also assist with telephone and web orders. The shop sells a wide range of whole foods, books, gifts and healthcare products.

Volunteers need to enjoy working with people, assisting others and offering an excellent service. This role can offer you the opportunity to develop retail and customer skills and provide varied work experience. We ask volunteers to cover one shift a week, days and times vary.

Guest Musicians
Offer a peaceful and relaxing music session to people with cancer and their supporters.

At the beginning of a 5 day residential course we invite a guest musician to play to the clients, offering a gentle and relaxing session. There may also be some discussion about the music and instrument as part of the evening.

We would like to hear from musicians who would be able to offer approximately one evening a month (days vary) and who would be interested in playing their music to a group of up to 12 people with cancer and their supporters. A range of instruments would be appropriate. Full induction given.

Then please consider joining our team of volunteer gardeners.

We want to create a modern, engaging garden which will compliment and enhance the Centre and life changing work of the charity itself. The gardens and surrounding grounds form a vital part of supporting people with cancer and their families.

Would you, or someone you know, consider joining our volunteer garden team? We meet regularly as a work / social / teaching gardening team.
