What does an Integrative Doctor do?

07 February 2012
Integrative Doctors bridge the gap between mainstream medicine and complementary and alternative therapies. They are all registered, practising doctors, with a particular interest and belief in working with you as a whole person.

The doctor will look with you at every aspect of your health, mind, body, spirit and emotion, and help you find ways to support yourself and achieve the best balance for you.

The doctor can make suggestions about how you might manage symptoms and explain what your diagnosis and treatment mean if this is not clear to you.  They can help you to manage other health problems you may have alongside your cancer diagnosis.  As practising doctors within the NHS, they understand how the system works, and can help guide you through difficult choices.
